CPDLC Departure Clearance

Controllerā€“pilot data link communication (CPDLC) is a means of communication between controller and pilot, using data link for ATC communication. Implementation of CPDLC Departure Clearance (DCL) is currently underway by the FAA and the list of operational airports is steadily growing.

Flightstar is offering this capability in the Bombardier Learjet 40 and Learjet 45 by way of this in-progress STC that has an expected delivery of mid-year 2018.

Flightstar CPDLC Solution in the Learjet 40/45

This Flightstar CPDLC STC allows operators to utilize departure clearance procedures in domestic airspace with Controller-Pilot Data Link Communications Departure Clearance (CPDLC DCL) or in European airspace with Aeronautical Telecommunications Network, Level B1 (ATN B1) capabilities.

Included in the STC is the option for implantation of Future Air Navigation System (FANS) 1/A+ capabilities. Operators achieve this with the addition of a TrueNorth Iridium Data Link Unit (DTU) and corresponding antenna.

All structural data is included in the one time use STC for the Bombardier Learjet 40 and Learjet 45.
